Project Outline

The central idea of the “Eat well, be active” project is to allow pupils to develop an increased awareness of the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle, and how different cultures approach this. The exciting variety and range of pupil led activities and learning experiences will help develop an increased motivation and focus on healthy living. All participants will embrace the philosophy of healthy lifestyle- learning about the importance of a balanced diet, exercise and an awareness of emotional wellbeing. All work will be exchanged to better understand intercultural similarities and differences between participating countries.

Communication within the partnerships will also allow the development of modern foreign languages for all the children and teachers, ensuring opportunities for all regardless of ability, gender or ethnicity.

The programme will allow pupils to focus on their creative and innovative skills. Pupils will play an active role in planning, preparing and evaluating all activities to ensure ownership of the project.

Whole school and Community involvement will encourage a greater understanding and reflection of own and other cultures. The project will also develop lifelong learning skills, tolerance and empathy towards others and a greater awareness of the importance of global citizenship.
